Surgical trainees can now access high-quality e-learning to support their development thanks to eIntegrity.
eSurgery covers a broad theoretical knowledge base common to all surgical specialties. It helps early years’ trainees develop the basic knowledge and skills required of a surgeon.
The surgery course has been developed in the UK by the Royal College of Surgeons of England and NHS England e-Learning for Healthcare. However, the e-learning is relevant to practitioners globally.
Written by highly experienced, practising surgeons, the quality-assured content is packed with interactive features, such as videos, audio clips and questions, to help explain the complex surgical principles and build learning and understanding.
The programme modules, which map to the UK’s Intercollegiate Surgical Curriculum Programme (ISCP), cover:
- Basic science knowledge relevant to surgical practice
- Common surgical conditions
- Basic surgical skills
- Peri-operative care of the surgical patient
- Assessment and management of patients with trauma
- Organ and tissue transplantation
eSurgery is already being used by doctors in the Gaza Strip to develop their clinical skills and knowledge through a focused training programme co-ordinated by the International Committee of the Red Cross.
