A new module on trauma and 22 additional sessions on common surgical conditions have recently been added to the eSurgery programme.
eSurgery, which covers a broad theoretical knowledge base, helps trainees to develop the basic knowledge and skills required of a surgeon. The sessions can be used alongside other training methods or for continuing professional development
The programme, which maps to the UK’s Intercollegiate Surgical Curriculum, has been developed by leading clinical experts in the UK. It has been produced in partnership with the Royal College of Surgeons of England and NHS England e-Learning for Healthcare (e-LfH).
Andi Blackmore, Project Manager from e-LfH, said: “This e-learning offers an invaluable resource for surgical trainees since it is written by practising surgeons working in the field. The new sessions greatly enhance the content – giving learners the chance to look at a wider range of surgical conditions and study trauma in more depth.
“We are constantly reviewing the content and updating these resources to ensure that they meet the needs of our learners moving forward.”
