The Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations e-learning programme (e-IRMER) has been updated and relaunched.
A team of editors reviewed 41 sessions across five modules following the launch of the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2017 (amended 2018) and associated regulations. e-IRMER is suitable for all healthcare professionals working with patients undergoing ionising radiation medical exposures.
The content is structured around five modules:
- Fundamental Physics of Radiation
- Radiation Protection
- Legal Requirements
- Diagnostic X-ray and Interventional Radiology
- Nuclear Medicine
New modules covering radiotherapy are also in the pipeline. e-IRMER is designed to help fulfil the theoretical training components of Schedule 3 of The Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2017.
The programme has been produced by the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine and NHS England e-Learning for Healthcare.
