The e-Pain programme has now been extended with the addition of three new modules.

e-Pain is designed for healthcare providers who are not pain specialists but who deal with patients suffering from acute, chronic and cancer pain. It covers a wide range of issues, including recognising, assessing and managing pain.

The three new modules are:

  • Basic Science – analysing the physiological and anatomical aspects of pain and pain management
  • Treatment – exploring both pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain treatment options
  • Special Populations – looking in depth at pain linked to specific conditions and specific populations, including pregnancy, paediatrics, older people and drug addiction

This high-quality resource, which has been developed by the Faculty of Pain Medicine (of The Royal College of Anaesthetists) and the British Pain Society, is invaluable for both training and continuing professional development. Users include hospital doctors, medical students, midwives, clinical psychologists, nurses, paramedics, physiotherapists and many others.

Further information about e-Pain is available on the Pain Management e-learning course page
