A new e-learning programme that explores care and compassion in practice is now available through eIntegrity.
The Compassion in Practice programme, which is suitable for nurses, midwives and other care staff, explores a raft of themes in health and social care.
Through interactive exercises, users can reflect on different ways to enhance compassion in their own area of practice, from creating a healing environment through to using accessible language with service users.
The programme supports the implementation of the UK health and social care sector’s ‘Vision for Nurses, Midwives and Care Staff’, which covers six key priority areas, such as helping people to stay independent, maximising well-being and improving outcomes. However, the themes are relevant to healthcare organisations globally.
Dr Julia Moore, National Director, e-Learning for Healthcare, NHS England, said: “Compassion in Practice is an important addition to our portfolio of programmes and it provides invaluable material for training or professional development.
“Care and compassion are, of course, essential attributes required of any health or social care professional. However, this programme allows users to explore new insights and re-evaluate their beliefs, helping to strengthen their skills and ensure they are delivering the very best care.
“In common with all eIntegrity programmes, the content has been written by leading experts from across the National Health Service and various UK professional bodies so learners can be assured of the highest quality learning materials.”
